Common questions

Precision Fiber Laser Cutting, answered

What materials can you laser cut?

Mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass and copper, plus other sheet and plate depending on thickness and application. Aluminum and stainless are what we do most, and what the shop specializes in. Send the drawing with your material and thickness and we will confirm we can run it.

How big a sheet can you cut?

The bed is 60 by 120 inches, so a full 5 ft by 10 ft sheet runs without splitting the nest. That also means fewer part-to-part joints on large panels.

What file formats do you need?

DXF, DWG, STEP or PDF. A fully dimensioned print alongside the CAD file gets you the fastest quote. Parts that need to be redrawn take longer and can affect price.

Do you cut one-off parts, or only production runs?

Both. A single prototype and a repeating production order run on the same laser. There is no separate prototype shop and no handoff between them.

How thick can you cut?

It depends on the material and the finish you need on the edge. Send the part and we will tell you straight away whether the laser is the right process for it.
