What it means here
Aluminum is unforgiving of a shop that treats it like steel. It moves under heat, it marks easily, and a weld that would pass on mild steel shows every fault. Most of what leaves this floor in aluminum is welded box section, formed panel and tread plate, welded and dressed so the part reads as one piece rather than a set of parts bolted together.
Steward Metal Fabricating is a precision sheet metal shop in O'Fallon, Missouri, serving the St. Louis metro and St. Charles County since 1968. We ship finished parts nationwide.

Common questions
Aluminum Fabrication, answered
Do you weld aluminum in-house?
Yes. MIG and TIG, and aluminum is one of the shop's two declared specialties alongside stainless. Welded aluminum box-section members and tread-plate assemblies are regular work here.
How thick can you cut aluminum?
The 6kW fiber laser handles aluminum up to about 1/2 in., and most production work sits at 3/8 in. and under. Send the drawing with your thickness and we will confirm the part before you order.
Can you anodize aluminum parts?
We coordinate anodizing through vetted finishing partners, scheduled and inspected by us, so the part comes back here and ships to you finished on one purchase order.
